BGMI developer Krafton faces accusations of selling users' data in India
The challenges facing Krafton India, the creator of the BGMI game, may escalate. The game developer has been accused of selling users' data, and a court hearing is scheduled for April 15 next week.
The complainant alleges that Krafton sold user data for Rs 2,000 per individual. A case was officially filed against the company at Akluj police station on September 5, 2024, naming four accused, including company representatives. The FIR raises significant concerns, asserting that confidential user data was not only leaked but also shared with third parties. The case is being pursued under several legal provisions, indicating the severity of the situation.
Given the prior PUBG ban in India due to data security issues, there is concern that BGMI might face a similar fate. If the allegations are proven true, Krafton India could face increased scrutiny and possibly another ban.
In unrelated news, iPhone prices are expected to rise significantly. With China being a major supplier of components for Apple products, a recent tax hike from 20% to 34% on Chinese imports to the U.S. could make iPhones much more expensive. Reports suggest that if these taxes remain, iPhone prices could exceed $2,000 in the future.
Let me know if you need any more adjustments!
